Faith or Fear? You choose.
Happy Friday Friends!!
Can I be real with ya’ll for a second? Life has been life’ing recently (that’s how the cool kids say it, right?! LOL)! We are well into the second month of 2022 and this year is not at all going the way I thought it would. If you’re anything like me, the unpredictability or feeling of not being in control is definitely anxiety-provoking!
In its simplest form, anxiety is fear. Fear of the unknown. Fear of the future. Fear of not being able to control the outcome. So, what do we do with it? We allow ourselves to sit with it, but don’t build a house there. Give yourself permission to feel the anxiety and to process what’s underneath. Maybe you’re afraid that things won’t work out in your favor? Or that you’re making the wrong decision? Perhaps you’re worried about whether or not the thing you’ve been praying or believing God for is ever going to come to fruition? Whatever it is, learn to use your anxiety to your advantage.
You can use the anxiety to your advantage by channeling your energy into something productive. Have you done all that you can to prepare for what you’re praying for? What can you do during this waiting season to improve your life? Is there any area of your life where you’ve delayed obedience (doing something God told you to do)?
Let me give you a transparent example of this... For four years, I was “waiting on God” to bless me with my second child. In the last 6 months of the waiting period, smack dab in the middle of the pandemic, I started getting busy working on the things God instructed me to do that I had been avoiding. I focused on starting Beyond the Couch! One month after I launched the business, I conceived my miracle baby! Coincidence? I think not. Surrender your plans to the Lord and accept the “I don’t know”. Your “I don't know” could be how long it will take or how it will happen. Just know that whatever it is, you can trust that God will make it happen at just the right time!
It’s time to ask yourself some hard questions. What cup am I going to fill, my faith cup or my fear cup? Get real about what you need and ask God to help you to make sure the right cup stays full. These are some other gems that God has placed in my spirit over the last two weeks. I pray they bless you as well!
Jewelle’s Gems
If you continue to meet the things you are experiencing from a space of resistance (saying “this should not be” or judging it as wrong), you will continue to struggle or suffer.
Remember Jesus said “My peace I leave with you”(John 14:27)-- Peace, like joy, is a choice. You have to choose acceptance and surrender (daily) to rest in His peace and experience the joy of the Lord.
Once you’ve found your peace, then choose things and people that align with it. We usher in peace by what we choose to focus on.
Any fruit out of season is no good- timing is everything. Time is crucial to the process. Don’t miss your blessing by not utilizing the waiting period to prepare.
Adjust your definition of success based on the season you’re in. When we fail to adjust, we are forced to operate and view our current season from a space of deficit (tune in next time for more on this!).
Peace & Blessings,
Jewelle
